For men

Low testosterone (low-T) can develop at any age and in people that are otherwise healthy.  The aging process is accompanied by a reduction in testosterone levels, named male menopause or andropause.  But low-T can manifest in younger people.  Even intense, prolonged physical training could cause a decrease in free testosterone.  Sometimes, the imbalance in other hormones or function of organs, like the liver, could result in symptoms of low-T or low levels of free T (the active from of the hormone).

Our clinic provides a comprehensive approach to hormone replacement.  Before and during your initial visit we will collect information on personal and family history and current symptoms as well as current medications, supplements and nutrition, level of exercise and life style.  We will start by checking testosterone levels as well as other labs, like SHBG,PSA and CBC.  Levels of estrogen, cortisol and thyroid hormones are also significant since some of the symptoms could be due to reasons other than low testosterone.
During the treatment with replacement hormones it is very important to follow-up with your provider and report any new symptoms or medical conditions.  Also, lab tests are needed to ensure the treatment is safe.  There are many well documented benefits of testosterone replacement but there could also be significant complications, therefore clinical and lab fallow up is very important.
There are several ways to replace testosterone: oral, topical (skin application), injections or pellets implanted under the skin.

If you think you have symptoms of low testosterone, call us today to schedule an initial evaluation.
